You may be wondering - why a game thread for women's basketball?

First, because they're good. Second, because after watching last night's men's game, I've decided that we need something positive going on here on CN and what better way to do that than support a winner.

Most (okay, pretty much all) the information here came from CN community member redvalley, so please support her, thank her, and we'll continue to do these as the season goes on.

Here's the normal starting line-ups:

Nebraska's Starters:

3 - Hailie Sample 6-1-Fr-F 3.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg

23 - Emily Cady 6-2-Fr-F 10.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg

35 - Jordan Hooper 6-2-So-F 20.0 ppg, 9.4 rpg

00 - Lindsey Moore 5-9-Jr-G 16.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg

5 - Kaitlyn Burke 5-7-Sr-G 5.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg

Michigan's Starters:

21 - Nya Jordan 6-0-Jr-F 3.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg

33 - Carmen Reynolds 6-0-Sr-F/G 7.5 ppg, 2.9 rpg

24 - Jenny Ryan 5-9-Jr-G 7.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg

In the Big Ten conference race, Purdue (9-2) has a half-game lead on Nebraska and Ohio State, both 8-2. Last week, the Huskers knocked off Purdue in triple overtime in West Lafayette.

Nebraska is led by sophomore Jordan Hooper (20 ppg) and junior Lindsey Moore (16 ppg). Hooper is second in B1G scoring, leads the conference in rebounds, and has a conference-leading 10 double-doubles. Hooper needs just 10 points against Michigan to become the first sophomore in school history to score 1,000 points in her career.

Lindsey Moore reached the career 1,000 point mark last week against Purdue.

One Husker who has really upped her game since conference play began is freshman Emily Cady. She averages 10 ppg for the season, but in

B1G play she's averaging 13.4 points and 6.2 rebounds.
