Ahhhh... nice little piece of news to drop on this Thursday afternoon to take your mind off of the coaching searches in the SEC or who is changing conferences.
This afternoon, the University of Nebraska announced a home and home series with the Oklahoma Sooners for 2021 and 2022. The first game will be in Norman on September 18th, 2021 and will celebrate the 50th anniversary of "The Game of the Century", the 35-31 Nebraska victory on Thanksgiving Day 1971. The return game will be in Lincoln the next year, on September 17th, 2022.
Now, mind you, no one truly knows if this is a conference game or not by then, as of course Nebraska and Oklahoma could be in the same division as Alaska-Anchorage, Hawaii, Oregon State, Harvard...... and Iowa (because they would still be paying Kirk Ferentz, and couldn't afford that trip to the ACC).
For those of you wondering what the Oklahoma reaction is, head on over to Crimson and Cream Machine, the SBNation Oklahoma community.
