I know we're a Husker site, and I realize that we're supposed to be homer, but 10th is a little high for a team that's:
- Playing their first year in a whole new conference
- Learning and new offense with a new offensive coordinator
- Hasn't had a dependable offense in three years
- Replaced some key coaches on the defensive staff
I like the respect the AP voters are showing Bo Pelini and his defense (obviously), but I'm not sure about the ranking.
Complete poll is after the jump, along with some other observations.
Stanford in the top ten is a mystery to me. Here's a team that lost their head coach, and most of their offensive line, but return the best quarterback in the nation. This isn't the NFL.
Notre Dame - 16th? Is that based on Brian Kelly, or will Notre Dame be good this season?
At least the AP didn't rank Texas, but they did rank USC, a team currently on probation.
