SB Nation Conference Re-Draft - Nebraska Selected in the Third Round

Haven't heard about the SB Nation Conference Re-draft project? Click here, then here.

We announced the SB Nation Conference Re-Draft Project on June 8th. The basic concept - if you had the ability to select your own conference - what schools would you select and why? Would you want to build a college football powerhouse, or would you have some balance?

Since the initial announcement, the first three rounds are done. Nebraska has been selected as the third pick in the third round. The results are listed after the jump.

I don't think there's any real shock as to the results in the first two rounds. Texas is obviously the #1 choice (forgot your emotions, this is business, man!), having more money than any other school and the athletes to boot. Not surprising, you've got an even split between the SEC and Big Ten with four schools apiece. The Pac 12 isn't so far behind with three teams, and the Big 12 provides Texas and Oklahoma (so far).

I have to admit, I'm a little surprised that Virginia Tech was selected ahead of Nebraska, but maybe them Iowegians just didn't want us around all that much.

What's it mean? Well , at this point Nebraska is in a yet-to-be-named conference with Alabama and Oklahoma. Good news - we get our old rival Oklahoma back. Bad news - it's going to be really tough winning the conference - in football at least.

We're looking for two things here - what would you name this conference, and what school would be your next selection?
