SCORE UPDATE: Final Oregon 83 Nebraska 76

Nebraska hosts former Omaha favorite Dana Altman and his Oregon Ducks to the "Bob" this evening, and hope to build their record to a perfect 4-0. IF you didn't get a chance to see the Big Red in action on Sunday, it was a thing of beauty as Rhode Island was thoroughly destroyed from start to finish. Nebraska held a team that scored 90 points in each of it's first two games, to just 63 points on 37% shooting. We scored at will, and as any Husker b-ball fan will tell you...that is music to our ears.

FYI - Bo Spencer is legit. Watch this guy tonight if you can, he may very well be the difference in getting Nebraska to the NCAA tournament.

Game Notes:

-Dana Altman (Formerly with Creighton) is in his second year with the Oregon Ducks, and has a 23-19 record.

-Nebraska is looking to start the season 4-0 for just the second time in the last six seasons.

-The last time these two teams played on Dec 15th 2007, Nebraska emerged victorious with a 9 point win.

-Nebraska is hitting a blistering 45% of it's 3-point shots this season, which has led to a 70 ppg team scoring average over 3 games.

-The Ducks won 21 games last season, and took home the CBI Tournament Championship.

-Nebraska and Oregon both have deep benches. (GameBreaker Stat) Oregon currently plays seven players who are averaging between 5 and 12.3 points per game. The play of the bench could prove critical for both teams.

I'm expecting a tough game tonight, and am excited to see if the guys can stay focused with the distractions of the Holiday and our upcoming football game with Iowa. I keep waiting for the so-called "letdown", but I'll be honest..as each game goes by, there is less and less of a reason to think that Nebraska can't play at a high level. Great stuff going on with Doc's boys, and Happy Holidays to all of you Cornhuskers out there. Go Big Red!
