For a quick background, the Mumme Poll consists of college football bloggers, avid fans, etc. and works much like any other poll. Some glaring differences are the fact the poll doesn't come out until after Week 6 of the college football season and you rank one top team in America with your next nine in no specific order. Many people believe that this would actually be the best way to run the Coaches and AP Top 25. Come see what me and other voters thought of what has transpired on the field thus far.
Here are the current standings after Week 6:
Rank | Team | Votes (Top pick) |
1 | Oregon | 80 (50) |
2 | Auburn | 79 (2) |
3 | Ohio State | 78 (17) |
4 | Oklahoma | 74 (1) |
5 | Boise State | 72 (3) |
6 | Nebraska | 71 (2) |
7 | TCU | 69 (0) |
8 | Alabama | 65 (2) |
9 | LSU | 59 (4) |
10 | South Carolina | 53 (0) |
11 | Michigan State | 49 (0) |
12 | Utah | 22 (0) |
13 | Stanford | 12 (0) |
14 | Arkansas | 7 (0) |
15 | Missouri | 6 (0) |
16 | Iowa | 4 (0) |
16 | Oklahoma State | 4 (0) |
18 | Nevada | 3 (0) |
19 | Florida State | 2 (0) |
20 | Florida |
1 (0) |
So as you can see most of the country gave love to Oregon, including myself. Although I am a little puzzled by the Auburn Tigers high rank. Don't get me wrong, I'm very high on them but not the No. 2 team in the country. I didn't have any shockers in mine really. I ranked Oregon as my top team, followed by Nebraska, Oklahoma, Boise St., TCU, Ohio St., LSU, Auburn, Alabama and South Carolina in no specific order.
What do you guys think about the way the voting is done in this poll?
