The Flying Pelinis Big Game

Something different and refreshing to break from the all the Texas talk....

I had a vision once, of a perfect world...some twenty or thirty years down the road. Flying cars. Jetpacks. Space travel. Moon colonies. A personal "copy" of Jessica Biel for every man. Somewhere in that mix would be myself, retired and wealthy, watching holographic re-runs of the University of Nebraska's 14th National Championship win over Tim Tebow Jr. and the Northern Florida Gators. ( The southern part swallowed up due to global warming)

After the game, a crusty looking Bo Pelini with more wrinkles than a porn scene's bedsheets, answers questions about his legacy as a Cornhusker coach. Erin Andrews (still hot) asks: "After many years of success coach, can you remember "the game" that turned it all around for you, and for this program?" Naturally, Bo is then relegated to using his personal voice-over robot...a result of jaw paralysis brought on by years of vigorous gum chewing. He then gets frustrated by the robot's inability to perform fundamentals, and storms off the field...bent on showing this robot what discipline at Nebraska is all about.

Hey, a guy can dream can't he?

So, here is my question.....

What game would that be?

In only 2 years, Bo has this ship on the right course...don't think anyone can argue that. So what game, if any, has made the most impact on you as a Husker follower? What moment will Bo wear on his belt for the life of his coaching career at Nebraska, as the moment that changed all paths that were previously headed into mediocrity?

Before the poll, I will place my vote on the Oklahoma game this year in Lincoln. No better place to play a rivalry game than Lincoln, on a fall night, on national television. I have never heard a crowd filled with so much passion, need, and sheer noise than on that night. The Big Red brought back power football for one special game, and shut down the Sooners for a 10-3 win, in what was a masterful defensive performance by Carl Pelini and the Blackshirts. It seemed as if the ghosts of games past were in the stadium, reminding us of all the games we watched with family on tiny television sets... played on Thanksgiving in the rain. Nothing personified that nights emotion better, than when Bo shot his fists to the sky in triumph at the Husker fans... on his way into the tunnel after the game.

How about you?
