The teams at the top remain unchanged. Obviously that won't be true after next week, with Florida and Alabama meeting in the SEC Championship game, Texas meeting Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game, and Cincinnati meets Pitt in the Big East Championship game.
- Give me some feedback about the ranking order. Once you get past the top six, it's still up in the air as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sold on Ohio State being where they are, but fact is, there's not a lot of other great choices.
- No official word on Charlie Weis, Mark Mangino, or Ralph Friedgen . Al Groh has been fired by Virginia. Bobby Bowden's fate will be decided Monday. Right now there doesn't appear to be a huge amount of turnover in coaches this season, probably because many athletic departments simply can't afford to justify the contract buy outs required. Recession will continue to hit athletic departments for at least another year. It's not a bad thing if the run-up in coaching salaries is halted for a few seasons.
