Time for last week's Big 12 cob of the week, an honor bestowed on the worst performance of last week. Husker Mike and I are doing the nominees this week.
I think we'll take the highest votes throughout the season and compile a Big 12 Cob of the Year at the end of the season, so rock the vote!
Nebraska offense. Three turnovers in the first 6 minutes of the game, and it was game over.
Josh Freeman. Kansas had given up 108 points and 854 yards passing the previous two weeks. So what does Freeman go out and do in the first half against the reeling KU defense? No points, and under 60 yards. The NFL can hardly wait to get their hands on you.
Still trying to shake that Oklahoma game.... but as Bo has indicated, it's over and we must move on. I thought about choosing Pelini and his sideline antics this week, but then I thought... the guy has people talking about him and not complaining as much about his football team. Maybe that's a perty smart move right about now as was keeping his team from talking to the media after the game. What the heck, I'll nominate him anyway if for no other reason than to see how the voting goes.
I'll also nominate Robert Griffin. He's been brilliant so far this season, but he had a chance to turn the Big 12 North upside down by beating Missouri. Instead he throws his first interception of the season. Unfair? Yeah, maybe, but if you're going to be a superstar, you don't do that.
