Okay, I'm a day late because Dr. Tom's birthday was yesterday, February 23rd. It's the thought that counts, right?
Osborne's record of 255-49-3 was the best winning percentage of any active coach at the time of his retirement. He never won less than nine games in a season, and only once, at Iowa State in 1992, did he lose to team that had a losing record.
He won 250 games faster than any other coach in history, and the 60-3 record in his final five seasons will be next to impossible to beat.
With his record, 13 conference championships, and three national titles in 1994, 1995, and 1997, Tom Osborne is (debatably) the greatest college football coach in history.
