Here's my initial blogpoll ballot for the week. I watched the USC - Washington game for a while and thought USC looked very ordinary, so I dropped them below LSU.
Cal moves up to #3 - did anyone notice how far off the Oregon defensive backs were playing DeShean Jackson?
I still like Wisconsin. They play ugly football, but they've always played ugly football and found a way to win. I'll rank them higher than Ohio State in the Big 10 because OSU doesn't have much of an offense. They should have crushed Minnesota much worse than they did.
BC moves up, South Florida contained the three-headed monster that is Mountaineer football. That's pretty impressive and they get rewarded for it.
I hadn't ranked Kentucky before, believing that they're a fluke (and I"m still not convinced). Missouri goes to #11? ee what all those losses have done? Complete, utter chaos.
Cincinnati goes to #12. I did watch them dismantle a decent Oregon State team a few weeks ago, they deserve some consideration.
I thought about ranking Auburn, but no. One good game does not a team make.
Discrepancies? Injustice? Let me know, please.

I thought about ranking Auburn, but no. One good game does not a team make.
Well, Auburn does have victories over two of your ranked teams - #19 Florida and #25 K-State. Their victory this weekend was very similar to K-State's (on the road over a top 5 team).

Good point
I wondered about ranking K-State. Perhaps Auburn should replace them then.

Wow, those are horrible ratings!
LSU, USC, CAL, OSU, KY, WI the first 6.
Then, you've got a number of teams way too high: e.g. BC, USF, Cinci, HI, MO, VT, KS, PUR. You're kidding, right?!
KSU should be about 18. FL and OK about 11 & 12.
Anyway, it's going to get even more mixed up as most of the teams will continue to have more losses. Maybe LSU and OSU go undefeated, but that's it. The rest is a free for all.

why
are BC and South Florida too high?
Kansas - well, they're undefeated even though they haven't beaten anyone of note.
I'm not sold on Kentucky, but they continue to win.
Put it this way - given what Mizzou's accomplished so far, why aren't they at #12? Why shouldn't they be ranked there? Because their defense sucks? That would describe Cal as well.

USF
has an excellent D but just an average O. They are not a top 10(more like 12-15) team right now IMO, mainly for that reason. They could win out in the reg season, however, and in that case they will finish in the top 10. But I think they'll drop a few reg. seaon games.
I live out here in MA and BC's M.O. is not one of dominance, they always lose 2-3 reg season games which is what I expect will happen this year. They do have a mature team in general, though, and a better HC, IMO, so maybe they can do it this year; I'm pulling for them. But I don't think they're better than NE even--they haven't played anybody yet.
I think KU should be 22-25 since they're undefeated, are running up alot of points, and appear to have a good D. Their problem is that historically they've been crap and, therefore, currently lack credibility w pollsters. They're an unknown quantity. But if they beat KSU, they will shoot up to about 20-22 next week. That will be an interesting game.
CAL does have a pretty decent D and a great O and some quality wins. I would put them in the 4 spot, but it's close with OSU because they have a great D and very good O(which also makes me favor them over WI, whose D is weaker).
HI has no D, hasn't played anybody of note, and should be in the 15-20 range. Until they prove that they can beat some top flight competition, I'm not a believer yet.

Oh yeah,
MO is ranked way too high in the USA and AP since they haven't proven anything either. Their D is very suspect and they really should've lost to Ill. And how on earth do you move up 6-7 spots on a bye week? Hopefully, NE will bring them back to reality.
