Roll Bama Roll has the SEC Weekend in Review

Baylor 2-2 Tue., Apr. 10 TCU 6, Baylor 3
Sat., Apr. 14 Baylor 6, Kansas 2
Sun., Apr. 15 Kansas 4, Baylor 3
Sun., Apr. 15 Baylor 6, Kansas 2

Baylor pushes Kansas to the cellar of the Big 12 by taking a series from them this past weekend. Saturday's win was Baylor's first Big 12 road game win since April 29th, 2006, and their first road conference series win since 2005. That pretty much sums up where Baylor is right now in baseball - not a good place.

Baylor gets UT-Arlington (RPI:175) at home mid-week, then has Missouri at home next weekend.

Kansas 1-2 Sat., Apr. 14 Baylor 6, Kansas 2
Sun., Apr. 15 Kansas 4, Baylor 3
Sun., Apr. 15 Baylor 6, Kansas 2

Kansas has now lost all of their conference series this season, and they're now at the bottom of the Big 12. Their remaining conference series are against Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Kansas State and then finishing at home with the Huskers, so it won't get much easier for them.

Kansas goes to Wichita State (RPI:14) mid-week and then hosts Texas Tech next weekend.

Kansas State 1-3 Wed., Apr. 11 Creighton 3, Kansas State 1
Sun., Apr. 15 Oklahoma State 5, Kansas State 3
Sun., Apr. 15 Kansas State 7, Oklahoma State 1
Mon., Apr. 16 Oklahoma State 9, Kansas State 6

Not a good week for the Wildcats.

Mid-week, The Wildcats host Central Christian, then host Oklahoma next weekend.

Missouri 1-2 Sat., Apr. 14 Texas A&M 3, Missouri 1
Sat., Apr. 14 Missouri 7, Texas A&M 6
Sun., Apr. 15 Texas A&M 5, Missouri 2

The series loss was the first of the season for Mizzou. At least it came against ranked Texas A&M.

Missouri gets Missouri State mid-week and then goes to Baylor next weekend.

Nebraska 3-2 Tue., Apr. 10 Nebraska 7, Iowa 6
Wed., Apr. 11 Wichita State 5, Nebraska 3
Sat., Apr. 14 Oklahoma 3, Nebraska 0
Sat., Apr. 14 Nebraska 6, Oklahoma 4
Sun., Apr. 15 Nebraska 12, Oklahoma 5

The Huskers had another good week, taking a series from Oklahoma. If it weren't for a really bad outing by Charlie Shirek against Wichita State, the week would have been great, which is unfortunate because we could have used a RPI boost from beating the Shockers. The Oklahoma series was like the series against Alabama earlier in the season, where we were blanked in the first game, then came back to take the next two. Husker pitcher Luke Wertz allowed only one run over 8.2 innings on Sunday, after Bowman started the game rough.

Nebraska gets Creighton (RPI:62) in game two of three games on Tuesday, then the league-leading Longhorns come to Lincoln for a huge series next weekend. Wish I was going, but it's bad timing for me.

Oklahoma 2-2 Wed., Apr. 11 Oklahoma 2, Dallas Baptist 1
Sat., Apr. 14 Oklahoma 3, Nebraska 0
Sat., Apr. 14 Nebraska 6, Oklahoma 4
Sun., Apr. 15 Nebraska 12, Oklahoma 5

Ouch - the third consecutive Big 12 series defeat for the Sooners this week. Kansas State won't be a pushover, but they should take that series. If they don't, then total collapse?

Oklahoma goes to TCU (RPI: 59) mid-week, then stays on the road against Kansas State next weekend.

Oklahoma State 3-2 Tue., Apr. 10 Oklahoma State 6, Arkansas State 2
Wed., Apr. 11 Oklahoma State 21, Arkansas State 2
Sun., Apr. 15 Oklahoma State 5, Kansas State 3
Sun., Apr. 15 Kansas State 7, Oklahoma State 1
Mon., Apr. 16 Kansas State at Oklahoma State

The Cowboys sweep Arkansas State (RPI: 160) mid-week, with season highs in runs and hits in the 21-2 win. Oklahoma State is currently second in the nation in slugging percentage at .566, sixth in on-base percentage (ahead of Texas at 9th), and fourth in batting average.

Oklahoma State gets Arkansas-Pine Bluff (RPI:273) in a two-game series mid-week, then gets to travel to College Station to take on the Aggies next weekend in conference play.

Texas 3-0 Sat., Apr. 14 Texas 7, Texas Tech 2
Sat., Apr. 14 Texas 10, Texas Tech 1

Sun., Apr. 15 Texas 4, Texas Tech 2

Texas continues to roll, sweeping the Red Raiders this past weekend. They rolled up five runs in the first inning of the 10-1 win on Saturday. Texas slugger Kyle Russell is currently second in the nation in slugging percentage at .885, and leads in home runs with 20. Texas is the best team in the best conference in baseball, the Huskers have their work cut out for them next weekend - at least it's in Lincoln.

Texas travels to Houston to face Rice (RPI: 4) mid-week, in a very interesting match-up. They had previously beaten Rice 6-4 in the prior meeting. They then come to Lincoln for some great heckling next weekend. Should be a great series.

Texas A&M 3-1 Tue., Apr. 10 Texas A&M 6, Texas-San Antonio 2
Sat., Apr. 14 Texas A&M 3, Missouri 1
Sat., Apr. 14 Missouri 7, Texas A&M 6
Sun., Apr. 15 Texas A&M 5, Missouri 2

Houston (RPI: 60) comes to College Station mid-week. Then the Oklahoma State Cowboys visit for a weekend conference series.

Texas Tech 1-3 Tue., Apr. 10 Texas Tech 17, Hardin-Simmons University 6
Sat., Apr. 14 Texas 7, Texas Tech 2
Sat., Apr. 14 Texas 10, Texas Tech 1
Sun., Apr. 15 Texas 4, Texas Tech 2

How tough is the Big 12? Tough enough that the Texas sweep over Tech was the only sweep of the weekend. Too bad for the Red Raiders that it had to be them.

Texas Tech gets 'College of the Southwest' mid-week, and then lowly Kansas comes to town next week.
