Nebraska Sweeps Kansas And Now Here Come the Wahine

It's Good To Be A Husker!

For all the bad things happening on the football field, good things are happening to the volleyballers.

Last night during the team's 100th consecutive sell-out uber alles athlete Sarah Pavan broke Alliston Weston's school record in kills while the Huskers swept Kansas  30-16, 30-25, 30-26. Pavan now has 1,780 kills for her career (for non-volleyballers, a kill is an successful attack that results in an immediate point).

With the win, Nebraska improved to 17-0, 10-0 in the Big 12, placing them a game ahead on Texas (14-3, 10-1 Big 12). In 17 matches, Nebraska has lost only a single game.

Nebraska's #1-ranked volleyball team takes on the #11-ranked Hawaii Wahine at 5:00 pm central at the Devaney Center. General public tickets are sold out, UNL students can get in free with a valid student ID. More than 13,000 tickets have been sold, making the game a new NCAA record crowd for volleyball.

The game will be shown in the state of Nebraska on NETV. The only out-of-state video for the game is available through a subscription link at Huskers.com. Audio is available through the Husker Sports Network, and on Huskers.com.

The Husker volleyball team is performing at at incredibly high level, garnering a lot of respect nationally.

Women'sVB team rocks!

I love watching this team play!  They haven't even lost a game yet this season, let alone a match.  They'll probably go undefeated, but I just wonder who might take a game from them--probably TX.

I wish they would be on TV more...

Only

if you are talking about the Big XII. They lost one set to UCLA back in Sept. I think they have lost two altogether. Mr. Blight can answer that one better then I.

i believe

with the sweep over Hawaii, they are 60-1, having lost only one game.

They just have to maintain this high level over the whole season.

It'll be interesting.....

Go Big Red!
