Husker CornCast: The current state of Nebrasketball
We know you're still upset that Husker football is over for the year. But have no fear, Nebrasketball is....here? Well, at least they're trying....
Host Jake Sorensen is joined by Brian Rosenthal, Husker basketball beat writer for the Lincoln Journal Star, and our very own Brian Speers, Corn Nation's basketball writer, to talk about Nebraska hoops and their season so far. Is Doc Sadler gone after this year? Can Nebraska finish above .500 for the cumulative season? Does Nebraska have a legitimate shot at making a run over the next few weeks in conference play? Is B1G basketball better than Big 12 basketball? All those questions answered and more. Both Brians have different opinions in areas, so tune in!
As always, if you want to rant about the current state of Nebrasketball (or Husker football, I guess), don't be afraid to send us an email at huskercorncast@gmail.com or call our 24/7 fanline at (571) 306-CORN.
Husker CornCast: Bowl Edition
It's college bowl season!
While some of you may take that as a bad thing, many of you (including us) enjoy the bowl season, as it allows us to see a bunch of mediocre teams play each other! (just kidding). In this, the final episode of Husker CornCast of the year, hosts Jake Sorensen and Will Grubb break down the Nebraska-South Carolina Capitol One Bowl game, and determine if it will be a B1G victory or an SEC triumph.
Your intrepid hosts select their Husker players of the year and newcomers of the year.
Last but certainly not least, they dig into the BCS bowls and provide predictions of those games, too.
We'd like to thank you all for listening this season! Remember, you can still contact us next semester as we dig into Nebrasketball Husker CornCasts! Reach us at (571) 306-CORN, or shoot us an email at huskercorncast@gmail.com . Happy holidays, folks!
Husker CornCast: (Michigan) Battle of the Mobile QB's
Nebraska has already taken down one of the Michigan schools (Michigan State); now can they take down the Wolverines on the road?
Hosts Jake Sorensen and Will Grubb are joined by Brian Cook of Michigan football website MGoblog.com, to discuss if either of the mobile QBs (Denard Robinson and Taylor Martinez) will be able to amount a passing game against each other's defense. They discuss the difference head coach Brady Hoke has made on the Wolverines suddenly imposing defense, and why Michigan is ranked 5th in total defense in the nation.
Tune in for the predictions by Brian and both Will and Jake, for you might be in for a surprise.
Can the new Blackshirts D tame the Wildcats and Dan Persa? Husker CornCast
Nebraska is back in the Top 10, and we're back to talk about them! Hosts Jake Sorensen and Will Grubb discuss this weekend's opponent, the Northwestern Wildcats. Northwestern, at 1-4 in conference, may seem like an easy win. But in Lee Corso's words, "NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND." These 'cats' bring in experienced QB Dan Persa, and do-it-all QB/RB/WR Kain Colter. Can Nebraska contain this offense? Will it matter due to the Wildcats' porous defense? Listen in and find out. Game predictions, player of the game predictions, and more!
