Freshman point guard Bakari Evelyn will be transferring out of the program. Bakari was a recruit from Detroit Michigan via Hillcrest Academy in Arizona.
Bakari had limited playing time his freshman year. He played in 18 games this past season and averaged 4.9 minutes, shooting 30% from the field, and 1.3 points per game. However, he was clutch at the free throw line going 8 of 8.
He was buried behind guys like Benny Parker, Tai Webster, Glynn Watson for most of the season. With only Parker leaving and Anton Gill being eligible it would have been tough for him to make a dent his playing time this upcoming year.
This will free Nebraska up another scholarship making it three now for Tim Miles to utilize for this recruiting cycle.
We wish Bakari the best on the next leg of his journey and find a team that will be able to utilize his talents.
