The Nebraska Cornhuskers hit on their second big Quarterback target of the 2016 cycle as Pro Style QB Patrick O'Brien committed to the Huskers on Thursday afternoon.
O'Brien, from San Juan Hills HS in San Juan Capistrano HS, is a 6 foot 4, 225 pound QB. He is the 31st best QB in the class of '16 and the 63rd best player in the state of California this cycle.
While you can say O'Brien is a raw product for sure, the reel points out that he's not only able to make the throws that Mike Riley and QB/OC Danny Langsdorf want him to, but he'll be the man who complements the offense with running ability. He won't be at the level of a Terry Wilson, but he'll be good enough to make something happen.
Langsdorf was the lead recruiter on O'Brien, and other schools like Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State and Texas Tech had offers out for him. Notre Dame was recently looking as well.
With this commitment, Nebraska is set to fix the miss of a QB in the '15 cycle. They now have 6 spots filled in the '16 cycle, placing currently 7th in the Big Ten and 38th in the 247 National Class Ranking.
Some folks around the Nebraska offices dig this as well.
