Cassie McClure and Kaylan Jablonski managed to make Michigan play seven innings, something Michigan had not done all tournament. But, in the end, the Michigan offense was to powerful to overcome as the Huers fell in the BIG Championship game 6-1.
Nebraska would fall behind early as Michigan platted two runs in the second. After a walk, Michigan would lay down a sacrifice with no one on covering the bag to set up two on and no one out. A single and a pair of sacrifices would plate a pair of runs for the Wolverines.
Nebraska would try to answer back as they made loud outs in the second. Steph Pasquale appeared to have put the Huskers on the board but was robbed of a home run at the center field wall.
Nebraska again would put a rally together in the fourth looking to cut into Michigan's lead. Alicia Armstrong would single to left to break up a no hit bid. Pasquale again would put a charge into a ball to the left gap but the catch would be made again, ending the Huskers rally.
Michigan would score four more runs in the fifth, with the big blow being from Sierra Romero who hit a three run home run barely below the scoreboard in right field.
Nebraska would score their lone run of the night in the seventh when Pasquale finally had a ball drop for a double. McClure would then single to left to score pinch runner Taylor Otte to put the Huskers on the board.
Nebraska finishes the regular season at 34-21. Nebraska now awaits their fate in the NCAA Tournament Selection Show which is set for 9 P.M. tonight. Nebraska is on the bubble as they have an RPI of approximately 42 along with a 15-3 record in their past 18 games.
