Nebraska Defensive End Randy Gregory On Nagurski Watch List

Jon Johnston

Nebraska defensive end Randy Gregory was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list today. The Nagurski Trophy is awarded by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) to the nation's top defensive player, which, is a pretty broad category. Five finalists will be named on November 20th, and the winner will be announced on December 8th.

Gregory lead the Big Ten in sacks last season with 10.5, and lead the Huskers with 19 tackles for loss. He was third in tackles with 66 total. He earned first-team All-Big Ten honors last season and every Husker fan who reads this expects him to slaughter quarterbacks with abandon in 2014.

Ndamukong Suh won the award in 2009, the last Nebraska player to do so.
