The Husker MLB was caught with $1700 worth of bicycles Monday with a fellow Husker athlete.

Nebraska Cornhuskers Middle Linebacker Josh Banderas was arrested Monday evening and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking & Possession of Burglars Tools.

Banderas, 19, was arrested with Nebraska Cross Country and Track athlete Lucas Keifer, also 19, after they were pulled over at the corner of M Street & Antelope Parkway in Lincoln around 5:10 in the evening.

According to the arrest report, Banderas and Keifer were seen clipping locks off of bike racks and loading bicycles onto a truck just before 5 pm yesterday. A 911 call with the description of the truck led to the stopping of the truck a few minutes later. The truck had seven bicycles in it, with a value of around $1700.

Both men, who attended Lincoln Southwest together,  were released on a $3500 bond and will appear in court on the charges June 17th.

Banderas, who was supposed to compete with Michael Rose for the Middle Linebacker starting spot this fall, had 28 total tackles and 2 sacks last season for Nebraska.
