Penn State in trouble again: Deadspin

Lack of institutional control, anyone?

He bet and lost thousands of dollars on poker and sports wagering, mostly on pro football, though he also bet, several of his former teammates say, on Nittany Lions games.......This is a guy with an alleged gambling problem—including betting on his own team—coming in for mop-up duty and immediately covering the spread with a 42-yard touchdown pass in a game that was over.

In short, Mike McQueary, former Penn State quarterback and coach, (and a key accessory to Jerry Sandusky's serial rape of children), is now facing strong circumstantial evidence that he rigged Penn State football games in the mid-90s to win bets.

If the NCAA isn't too snake bit to run this down, PSU will likely be looking at more vacated wins, and hopefully more sanctions. In the past 20 years, this program's had a coach raping kids (convicted), other coaches knowing and grossly under reacting, three very senior athletic department indicted for covering up the rape scandal, hired a coach who's been accused of covering up a rape scandal of his own, and now, a former coach and player betting on Penn State and rigging games to win those bets (allegedly). I think we might now know what exactly was going on with that sideline call in 1982....what a program.
