Connie Yori and Jordan Hooper take home individual conference honors

Connie Yori was voted Coach of the Year by her fellow Big Ten women's basketball coaches who also picked Alliance native Jordan Hooper as conference player of the year.

The Big Ten media selected Penn State's Coquese Washington as coach of the year and Penn State player Maggie Lucas as conference player of the year.

Five Husker players in total picked up conference recognition.

Jordan Hooper and Rachel Theriot were named first team All-Big Ten by both media and coaches.  Emily Cady and Tear'a Laudermill were named second team All-Big Ten by the media and coaches as well and Hailie Sample was named on the Big Ten Conference all-defensive team.

After yesterday's 82-66 road loss to Purdue, the Huskers will have the #3 seed going into this week's Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament.  Nebraska's first game will be on Big Ten Network Friday night at 8:00 p.m. against the winner of Thursday's Minnesota/Wisconsin game.  You can check out the full tournament bracket right here.
