Who lost last night?
Ohio State and Iowa, that's who.
What's that mean?
Look at the current Big Ten standings:
Michigan State 11-4
Ohio State 9-7
Nebraska is currently tied at 5th place in the Big Ten and a half game out of fourth. I don't know what that means other than it's a shitload higher than anyone expected. Considering this team started 0-4 in conference, wow, what a job that Tim Miles has done so far.
A Penn State legend's Senior Night finally ended in victory as Tim Frazier's team took down the Buckeyes for the second time this season.
Penn State swept Ohio State this season, so if you're one of those hand-wringers who can't understand how Nebraska could lose in basketball to a team at the bottom of the standings, this should give you an idea of just how tough the Big Ten is AND how tough it is to win games on the road.
Ugly shooting leads to another ugly result.
Didn't we just watch this show? Iowa's defense got obliterated again in a game eerily reminiscent of Tuesday's meltdown in Minnesota.

For decades, Nebraska has overcome recruiting disadvantages to achieve consistent success nationally. But it's been more than a decade since the Cornhuskers' last top-10 finish, and while they're never dreadful, their national-power status is slipping.
I applaud the author or the editor for not including a gratuitous ANGRY PELINI shot in the article. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything here we don't know, but at the same time, we have a really hard time admitting that we are stuck in the middle. For some the solution is simple. Fire the coaches. For others, it's a matter of building the program. Either way, it's going to take time and that's the frustrating part, even in the middle of winter.
