Indiana Chosen As 2014 Big Ten Baseball Preseason Favorite, Nebraska Second

Jon Johnston

To the shock of no one except a few who aren't paying attention yet, the Indiana Hoosiers were picked to win the conference in the 2014 Big Ten Baseball preseason poll.

Indiana begins this season ranked #3 by Baseball America, #7 by the NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball, and 11th by the USA Today Coaches Poll. Reason - they return most of a very good team from last year. Bottom line - beating out Indiana for the Big Ten title will be a very tough task.

The poll was voted upon by conference coaches.

The order of finish for the top six teams was chosen as follows:

1. Indiana - Unanimous selection
2. Nebraska
3. Ohio State
4. Michigan State
T-5. Illinois
