BTN to Televise Huskers' Spring Football Game

Hopefully the weather will be like this! - Eric Francis

Nebraska has announced that BTN will televise the Huskers' Spring Game at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6th. The date of the game had been announced earlier this year, and ticket sales began in early February....but with a "TBA" for the game time.

Now we know the time, and that the game will be televised live for the first time in many years. I believe NET broadcast a Spring Game in the 90's, and perhaps Dan Livingston's "Sports Video Productions" may have done one as well. Some have been shown on tape-delay in recent years, though.

The 2 p.m. kickoff might present challenges to attendees who do a decent job of guessing the NCAA basketball tournament. The first game of the Final Four tips off just after 5 p.m., so unless you live in Lincoln, you'll have to listen to Kevin Kugler call the game on the radio as you drive home. (That also means that Kugler won't be announcing the spring game for BTN, unless he calls it from a television in Atlanta. Highly doubtful...)

We'll see how the weather holds this year. The long-range extended forecast by Weather2020 calls for it to be windy and cooler.

But hey! It's still football. Even if it is just a practice. And it'll be our first chance to see some of the new faces that Nebraska will be counting on, especially on defense.
