Matthew Atewe, a power forward from Fitchburg, MA has made his decision: He'll sign with the Auburn Tigers.
The 6'9", 230 pound prospect narrowed his decision to Nebraska and Auburn several days earlier, declaring that he'd be deciding between the two schools today.
Rumors swirled that Atewe was leaning toward the Big Red, but other factors weighed heavily in his decision.
Heard an update on Matthew Atewe. Says he wants to go to Nebraska but AAU coach wants him to go to Auburn. Well coach it isn't your choice.

While its unknown how effective he would've been immediately, Tim Miles currently doesn't have a player with his size on the roster. It's likely that this alone could've provided Nebraska with the opportunity to tack on an additional conference win or two next season.
Atewe's commitment elsewhere is a disappointing loss, especially considering Omaha, NE native Akoy Agau's commitment to the Louisville Cardinals.
On a more positive note, Nebraska is still strongly pursuing power forward Leslee Smith and small forward Sai Tummala who both remain very interested in the opportunities presented by Miles.
