2013 All-Big Ten Football Teams: Abdullah, Gregory, Pace Nebraska's Selections

David McGee

Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah and defensive end Randy Gregory were first-team All-Big Ten football selections by both the media and the coaches. Cornerback Ciante Evans made the coaches' first team.

In all, Nebraska had 11 players honored, but won none of the end of season special awards. The Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year went to Ohio State's Carlos Hyde, who finished first in rushing in the conference. Abdullah had an excellent season, however, rushing for 1,568 yards and eight touchdowns. His rushing yardage was the fifth-best in school history and best by a Husker since 1997. He had 10 games with 100 or more rushing yards, seven in conference games.

Gregory finished tops in the Big Ten in sacks with 9.5, 9.0 coming in conference play. He finished second in the Big Ten in tackles for loss with 17 and had 17 quarterback hurries. He returned one interception for a touchdown, forced a fumble and had one fumble recovery.
