This was a hell of a game, and although Ron Kellogg III did not play the entire game I am comfortable saying he saved us from losing.
The Kellogg Miracle goes further than the Hail Mary. The Kellogg Miracle starts with the huskers starting a drive deep in their own side of the field with less than a minute to go and no time outs left. The Kellogg Miracle includes a flat out great play by Abdullah to get a first down on 4th and long with just a few seconds left in the game. And finally, The Kellogg Miracle includes a Hail Mary play the likes of Doug Flutie's Hail Mary play way back when.
But that's not why The Kellogg Miracle is The Kellogg Miracle. The Kellogg Miracle is The Kellogg Miracle because Ron Kellogg III, a walk on from Nebraska, fought through adversity for the better part of five(5!) years without ever having had his moment to shine, and last night shine he did. In the final drive against a very well coached Northwestern team, Ron Kellogg III shined as bright as anyone and won an already lost game.
This is why, folks, I'd like to ask the community to give RKIII his due, and not call this "The Hail Mary," "The Northwestern Miracle," "The Husker Miracle" or hell even "The Westerkamp Miracle," because he still has 3 more years to define his legacy. Kellogg however has been given very few chances to do that and I think he did last night.
What you witnessed last night was The Kellogg Miracle.
