Bruce Thorson-US PRESSWIRE

Despite having the opportunity to return for a sixth season, Fisher has decided to move on.

Nebraska linebacker Sean Fisher has announced that he will not be returning for a sixth year.

The Omaha, NE native tallied 87 tackles (17 unassisted), eight tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery during his career with the Huskers.

Fisher's departure leaves Nebraska with the following linebackers assuming all current commitments sign Letters of Intent:

Juniors: Zaire Anderson
Sophomores: Max Pirman, David Santos
Freshmen/Redshirt Freshmen: Jared Afalava, Josh Banderas, Thomas Brown, Courtney Love, Marcus Newby, Michael Rose

There has been speculation that Corey Cooper, currently listed safety, will shift down to linebacker to aid in filling the experience gap. Cooper will be a junior this upcoming season.

We at Corn Nation would like to wish Sean the best in his future endeavors.
