Bringing you coverage of Nebraska and Big Ten sports and other stories from college football and beyond.
Very cool! ROBOTS.
Congratulations, Ms. Haggerty!
Get well soon, Mr. Burkhead.
Marlowe's surgery went well and he is expected to return by November. Ben Cotton should be back Saturday.
"You’re not just thinking about the next couple quarters," Pelini said. "You’re thinking about the whole season. Not only the future of the team, but Rex’s future."
That's very humane of Pelini. The article also notes that Pelini thinks the defense is ahead. Some rumblings I've seen is that Nebraska hasn't been able to tackle QBs in practice to prevent injuries. Could just be talk, no clue.
More Nebraska football and other stories after the Jump!
I guess if Bo isn't worried, we shouldn't be either.
Personnel changes are coming.
We should send him a fruit basket if Martinez keeps this up all season.
/not sure if serious
Bell says he ran a bad route.
IT'S ALL LIES.
The national #3 and #4 offenses meet in Pasadena on Saturday. Should be a good time. (Is the Rose Bowl under an overpass? Because that would be perfect.)
Hopefully the game is more like the regular season games against Washington than the bowl game.
Go Joe Bruin rates their offense heading into Nebraska. Should be a stiff challenge.
Bruins Nation analyzes their game against Rice and looks for areas of improvement that'll need to be addressed before Saturday.
Another Nebraska team, another youth movement. Good luck, ladies!
Good luck to Dennard. It sounds like he'll be working very hard to keep his nose clean. The NFL needs more humble players like that.
Big Ten (10-2)
They just need that Mad Money guy with his various noise makers running in the background.
Very cool. Hopefully he propels them to a East Division title. Or at least to victory over Wisconsin.
Interesting. Why would you bench Marve after his good outing? He obviously has control of the offense. Didn't work well for either Florida or USM during their games.
Game-changer for Michigan? Sounds like the Alabama game was a loss all around for them.
For the record, I don't think Hoke is suggesting they'll get a second shot at Alabama (although not entirely out of the question, given the formula - Alabama would gladly wallop them again for an easy trophy). He means that the team needs to move past the game mentally.
I am not forgiving Northwestern for making me miss the first fifteen minutes of the game.
No. 17 Nebraska (1-0) at UCLA (1-0), 6:30 p.m., Fox: The Huskers go to the Rose Bowl for what they hope might be the first of two trips this season. Taylor Martinez looked terrific against Southern Miss and now goes back home to California. UCLA showed increased offensive firepower in an easy win over Rice, so this one could be a lot of fun.
I'm pretty excited.
Rough weekend for some of the Big Ten's heavy hitters on the injury front...and we haven't even started conference play.
I think we'll be finding out soon that Boise State isn't the same Boise State we've all come to love or hate.
Ouch, get better soon. (Sounds like FSU will be okay though.)
Ooof. That was fast.
Nine ACL injuries? That sounds absolutely Purdue-like.
Why we love college football: the potential for incredible acts of fail is so, so high.
Every time I watch this, I still can't believe this wasn't staged.
We need to schedule Savannah State.
Should garner each league member $20 million a year. Think the Big Ten is more than that.
I'm not claiming any originality here, but Oklahoma isn't going to win the Big 12 or go to a BCS game.
He was probably told "sorry 'bout that" because that makes things better.
