(We really need more volleyball pictures.)
Tonight, RIGHT NOW, the Lady Huskers are playing at home against Mitten State. The No. 6 Cornhuskers bring a NCAA-leading 169 consecutive home sellouts into this game. That's leading in all women's sports (and probably doing pretty good against men's sports as well - Notre Dame's sellout streak is only about 220.)
Of course, we also heard today the sad but expected news that our dear friend Dr. Tom Osborne will finally be taking retirement from the athletic department, stepping down as AD on January 1st, 2013. He will remain on as an AD Emeritus until the summer, to assist with the transition of the new AD. A private, nationwide search for his replacement is currently on-going. We all certainly wish Dr. Osborne all the best and thank Nancy for giving up so much so that Nebraska athletics, and the state itself, could benefit from the great leadership shown by Dr. Osborne.
In honor of Dr. Osborne's decades of leadership for Nebraska, let's tune in and watch the Lady Huskers as they try to improve to 2-1 in the Big Ten. The game is on BTN with Kevin Kugler and Megan Bower on the call.
