This Tuesday afternoon, we thought we would give you, the Nebraska fan, some insight on what others in the Big Ten Conference were thinking about their teams and such right before conference play kicks off.
- The boys over at Off Tackle Empire give out their non-conference grades for the B1G. Nebraska gets a grade that is quite deserving. While some of the higher grades may surprise you if you haven't watched their games, it makes you realize just how much the conference is on their ear after the first month of the season.
- If you missed it Saturday, Patrick Vint of Black Heart, Gold Pants gave a honest discussion about not only Iowa Football under Kirk Ferentz, but the ENTIRE Athletic Department in Iowa City. A real eye opening piece about how the loss to Central Michigan early Saturday could be seen miles away, and how, for a lack of a better term, they are stuck with Ferentz till 2020 or someone hits PowerBall and ponies up some scratch for the buyout which is HEFTY.
- Over at Bucky's 5th Quarter, they have as much hope for a B1G repeat as basically anyone does to get that conference title. This will be a test for Wisconsin's rushing defense, as the best rushing team they faced was Utah State, barely in the top 50 in rushing offense (47th). Oregon State is barely in the top 100, so this will be a focus come Saturday night.
- Finally, the folks over at the Daily Gopher don't quite know how to take their 4-0 start. Do you honestly blame them? I wouldn't, I mean you don't go 3-9 to 4-0 with a good possibility of 5-0 without wondering what's going right and hoping you don't mess that up. What's working so well? Check out the defensive graphic in the first part of the story. I'm glad Jerry Kill is having success, and makes you wonder if the November matchup in Lincoln could be for the East title.
