First off Taylor Martinez exceeded my expectations by about 3 touchdowns and 200 yards. He isn't perfect by any measure but his throwing motion and footwork is miles ahead of where he was last year. I like all my husker friends felt my stomach drop when hearing of the injury to Rex, but it is only a sprain and with a light schedule ahead of us, I really hope he is able to heal up for the Wisconsin game. The defense was a spot of frustration, but as the game when on they did improve. It was the first game of the season and Bo even commented that they were not really sure what to prepare for so take from their performance what you will. The negative of the game was the special teams. With respect to the speed and blocking of the return team, our kick coverage had me holding my breath more than once. Brett Maher's field goals were the events that brought out the hat throwing in me. Special teams should be our given points in tough games. We need those field goals because when it comes time when taylor cant throw 5 tds, we'll need those points. Overall I was very pleased with the performance and am so overjoyed to have Nebraska Football back in my life! Bring on UCLA,
