We met a bunch of Cornhuskers yesterday...

at the annual Atlanta Big Ten Clubs picnic, an event in which the alumni clubs of all 12 schools participate. The first thing we saw as we pulled up to the pavilion at Lake Allatoona was a large Nebraska flag (the school flag, not the state flag) flying from about a 30 foot tall flagpole. I said to my wife "they've just joined the Big Ten and they've already shown us up, we have to get a Purdue flag and pole like that." Gotta love that spirit and pride.

Anyway, I just wanted to offer a belated welcome to the Big Ten family. We in the Purdue club were so impressed by your turnout at the picnic and how passionate about Nebraska you are and how friendly you all are. Midwesterners are simply the best. The Cornhuskers are a wonderful addition to the conference, probably should have been with us all along, so glad we can now count you as a part of the family!

Also, kudos for knocking off the Indiana Loosiers last year in basketball. Loved it, I was the world's biggest Nebraska fan while watching that game!
