Since we're almost certainly looking at least a year of Pelini debates coming up, I just wanted to delurk for a second and chime in with a sanity check to some of the arguments I've seen the last few weeks defending Pelini by pointing to Solich and TO's first several years.
When Frank Solich was fired he had a Big 12 championship, a BCS bowl win, and a national championship appearance on his HC resume.
TO beat Texas and Florida in the Cotton and Sugar Bowls his first two seasons, shared the Big 8 championship his third, and did not finish a season outside the top 10 in the AP polls until 1989.
Pelini defenders, there are totally legitimate arguments for being patient and giving him another few years, but please stop pointing at people who were impatient with Solich and TO's first few years as if it were the same situation because it's just not true. If Bo had half the highlights on his resume TO or Solich did in their first few years we wouldn't even be having these debates.
