Nebraska vs PSU

I watched this year's Nebraska vs PSU game with some good natured Nebraska fans. When the broadcast reviewed the PSU fumble/no touchdown, they conceded that it was a touchdown but PSU owed them for 1982. I had previously been told by Nebraska fans that 1994 was payback for 1982. If a tape of the 1982 game is available anywhere, I would suggest that Nebraska fans look at a two other calls. Early in the third quarter a swing pass to PSU's Jon Williams was ruled a completion and a fumble. Nebraska recovered the alleged fumble at the 50 yard line and went on to score a TD. The CBS replay showed that Williams never had control of the ball, even for an instant. The official blew the call. Later in the same quarter Scott Wilkening, Nebraska's fullback, apparently fumbled the ball near the PSU 30 yard line and PSU recovered. However, the same oficial once again ruled against PSU. He said that Wilkening was down and the play was ruled dead. The CBS replay proved beyond any doubt that Wilkening was standing upright when he lost the ball. Nebraska once again went on to score a TD. If not for those two terrible calls against PSU, Nebraska wouldn't have even been in the game in the fourth quarter.
