I was there. I attended the last Nebraska-Wisconsin football game, at Camp Randall in 1974. I remember that it was a warm fall day.

Nebraska was rated #2 in the nation. Wisconsin had been terrible for years in football. Wisconsin had lost 23 games in a row in the late 1960s. In the early 1970s, things weren't much better.

Back then, the stands at Camp Randall were not full, and the fans were not wild or loud. There was no festive atmosphere, not like in recent years.

I remember that Wisconsin held off Nebraska's final drive, to seal the victory. It seemed miraculous to all of the Wisconsin fans.
