Tom Osborne's take on the Big 10 at the spring meetings:

"You have the general feeling here that people are trying to do their best for the collective good," he said Wednesday. "There's not a lot of one-upmanship or somebody out trying to gain an advantage."

Bo Pelini:

"It's a very classy conference," Pelini said. "I've enjoyed working with all the new Big Ten people. It just exudes class, and it's great to be a part of."

Translation: Suck it, Beebe. (And, Texas, too, for that matter.)

Dr. Osborne

has always been the epitome of understatement and class. In cases of potential controversy, he’s always deftly stated his true feelings without undue passion, criticism, or fanfare.

Which is why his above quote speaks such gentlemanly volumes about our former relationship with the Texas conference. The difference between the “collective good” versus “one-upmanship” could not have been stated more succintly.

Of course, Bo throwing down the “class” word twice in reference to our new conference is just icing on the cake.

A recruiting note..

This year’s class of 19 included 11 form the Deep South, Arizona & Cali and Texas (5). Fairly certain they were aware of the new conference by signing day.

I looked it up on Scout and it says you only have TWO (2) commits this year – both are from Nebraska.
