Bo Pelini's 2011 Nebraska Spring Football Press Conference
Bo Pelini, looking pretty relaxed as he gave his first press conference in what seems like forever. He talked about his offensive staff and how that came together. He mentions most of the stuff you'd expect from a coach in spring - expectations of playing for championships, playing better, being more efficient on offense, and
Key points after the jump.....
Some key mentions:
- Offensive tackle Jeremiah Sirles and defensive end Cameron Meredith will be out for the spring, recovering from
- Jake Cotton will move from the defensive line to the offensive tackle position.
- Eric Martin will remain at the defensive end position.
- The defense will play less "peso" this season, not shocking as they'll face more traditional "power" type offenses in the Big Ten than in the Big 12.
- The offense will be "multiple". It will include some spread, along with some "big sets". Most of all, it will be physical.
- Key players on defense: Alfonzo Dennard, Lavonte David, Jared Crick, and Sean Fisher.

Sean Fisher
Is Sean Fisher considered a redshirt sophomore this season? Because if I recall…he was a freshman in 2009 and then missed all last season with injury so would be eligible for a medical redshirt. If that’s true, then we get 3 more seasons with this guy at linebacker…that’s sweet!
He should
He gets 5 to play 4, and this past season would have been his redshirt year.

I'll be honest:
the thing that excites me most about everything we’ve learned this week is Brenden Stai’s return to NU. I can’t think of another player who better exemplified the controlled rage of our mid-90s OL roadgraders than Stai – here’s hoping that attitude and playing style is quick to return to NU.
