Nebraska and Iowa will play on the day after Thanksgiving.
Nebraska will continue its long tradition of playing on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Nebraska and Iowa announced Monday they will meet on the day after Thanksgiving in both 2011 and 2012.
The first of those meetings will take place at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Nov. 25, 2011. The Huskers’ first trip to Iowa City for a Big Ten Conference game will be played on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.
The change in dates was recently approved by the Big Ten Conference’s Administrator’s Council. A game time and television coverage information for the 2011 game in Lincoln will be available at a later date.

The more football, the better it is.
The University of Utah is off to the Pac-12 Conference and will be in the South Division. Hopefully we will get to the first ever Pac-12 Championship Game. Jon " Bones " Jones gets his chance for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title when he faces off against Shogun Rua. Jon Jones will win.

I love it. I love it. I love it.
This does two things for me:
1) It sets the Iowa-Nebraska game as a rivalry. Something that the fans have felt, but the lack of meetings hasn’t demonstrated.
2) It moves this game out of the shadow of OSU-UM.
Great decision by all involved.

It also prevents overlap of the weekend's three big games.
PSU-Wisconsin should slide nicely into the Saturday 3:30pm ET slot. Three big games, none of them stepping on the others.

This is probably the main reason I can get behind this move

My goodness
I’m set to absolutely OD on football every Thanksgiving weekend now.
NFL on Thursday, Huskers on Friday, Badgers on Saturday, Packers on Sunday. I’m gonna just tell my wife now to give her enough time to prepare for this. Well, once the Bachelor gets over, anyway.

Excellent
I have been waiting for this!
So I tried the Barbasol and Rotel dip and I was very dissapointed!
Will September 3rd ever get here?
New coaches, players, conference, and now a new rivalry game. Where’s that time machine when you need it? Can not wait!
They're 18 to 22...how perfect were you at that age?

Trophy

“Which brings us to the next step — will the game be played for a trophy? One idea that made the rounds during the Missouri Valley Conference tournament this past weekend was a pro-wrestling style "Corn Belt" that could be exchanged between the two storied programs.”
So I tried the Barbasol and Rotel dip and I was very dissapointed!
Unique
I still think that Nebraska-Iowa needs to do something unique. A trophy that goes back and forth is cool and all, but it’s been done a lot already. I’m putting together a write up for an idea I had and I’m going to make the post open so that everyone can put their ideas in too.
In the deed, the glory.

Whatever the belt would be
I’m pretty sure Aaron Rodgers has already won it.

Another Reason Thanksgiving Weekend Is Becoming My Favorite Holiday
A big ’ole turkey sandwich, a glass of something cold and tasty, and a new Husker rivalry to watch. Life is really good.

Great decision
I agree that it will help with exposure since they won’t play on the same day as OSU and Michigan. It is a win for all. Nebraska vs. Iowa should develop into a great rivalry hopefully with a lot on the line when we play. That always helps out. That is what made the OU vs. NU rivalry so good is the winner went to the Orange Bowl. Hopefully the bid to the championship game will be on line.
A friend
of mine from Iowa was calling if “FARMAGEDDON”. I thought that was a pretty good name for the game.
I thought the I-State and K-Staters had that copyrighted
For their big neutral site blowout event in Kansas City.

If Iowegians insist on calling this game "Farmageddon"...
…then I owe an apology to every fan of the University of Colorado for calling Buff fans the most stupid fan base in college football…

You’re welcome.

Maybe we should a take a page out of "Better than Erza"
And call it “Better than Farmageddon”. Or if that is too 1990s for you and you need something edgier…
“Fuck Farmageddon!”
Deadspin: by douche bags, for douche bags.
We were kicking the tires on FARMAGEDDON mostly just to piss with lil brother to the west.
We wouldn’t really want to use something second hand from those clowns.
Think of me like Yoda. But instead of being little and green, I wear suits and I'm awesome. I'm your bro- I'm Broda!
Hopefully its a night game.
That would be Friday ownership.

it would be nice
but I doubt it. I typically have to work that Friday… which sucks, a lot.

Unless The B1G has changed
They don’t set night games in November because of weather (not sure if there is more to it). I don’t agree but it’s understandable.
Cool.
I loved watching Nebraska-Oklahoma games, the day after TG, as a kid.
I expect the Iowa-Nebraska Game (The “IN” Game?), to be an instantly-classic, college football rivalry.
Great scheduling by the conference, as well. It will make Thanksgiving even more special.
