3/13/2011. Nebraska vs. Fresno St......literally!! The trouble had its genesis in Saturday's game when Fresno State's Jordan Ribera wiped out Husker catcher Patric Tolentino during a play at the plate (Ribera was out). In college baseball a runner cannot plow through a catcher if he's blocking the plate. Ribera was not ejected from the game. On Sunday, Husker pitcher Brandon Pierce apparently decided to enforce some "baseball justice" and plunked Ribera in his first at-bat (I missed it because I was in the restroom at the time). Ribera took offense at the dotting and started jawing at Pierce. Fresno State's next batter hit a two-run homer and the jawing continued. Both dugouts emptied, but no punches were thrown. Later in the inning a Fresno State player in the dugout was tossed out of the game. The Huskers won 5-4
