Any tailgating options for the traveling Husker fans before the Washington game?
A couple of families from Montana will be traveling to Seattle to watch the Huskers beat Washington, and would like to tailgate before the game with fellow Nebraska fans. There are 3 adults and 3 kids. If you wouldn't mind a couple more people at your site we would love to join. We would be happy to bring some fine Montana brew with us! Here's to a great season, go BIG RED. Cheers

I bet a lot of people will be flying to the game...
…so they probably won’t be a large number of tailgates.
The official “Husker Huddle” will be held at “The Zone” on the East Practice Field of Husky Stadium
Open 9:30-11:30AM before the game, as well as at halftime for Husker Huddle pass holders
The Huddle will feature the Husker Sports Network pre-game broadcast, as well as special appearances by athletic department and university dignitaries, Tommie Frazier and other former players
Thank you for the reply
Do you know where I could try to get a pass? I’m sure it’s already sold out, but it’s worth a try!
Been doing some research...
…and yeah I believe those “Zone” passes are sold out. It also seems like that might be the only thing planned that would be Husker related around the stadium so you could still give it a shot.
I’ll be heading up to Seattle next week too and I’ve found a few things that the ‘Big Red Storm’ are doing prior to game here on www.wacornhuskers.com (Big Red alumni chapter of Washington). Some of those do require a trek around Seattle, but from what I hear from family up there is that getting around can be decent (well, maybe not for a car) since they have great public transit.
If you find out anything new keep me posted. Maybe we can meet up somewhere.
I'll keep looking...
…and will be in touch if I find anything out. This is our first time watching Nebraska live and can’t wait for the game.
I guess if all else fails, we can walk around and hope some good Husky fans invite us over for a beer!
North Parking Lot
For those without tickets to the “Zone”, which are sold out, the North Parking lot is the best place to congregate. Husky Fans are very nice… and there is going to be a LOT of red, so it won’t be hard to find others. Parking is very hard to find in Seattle in general, let alone near Husky Stadium on Gameday. Come early!
Go Big Red!
Zone Passes
Where are the Zone Passes available from? We are flying into Seattle to see our daughter in Bellingham and also catch the Husker game. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bruce
Looks like it's sold out...
So that’s out. If you didn’t have the kids with you, you could always check out the Sidetrack band…
Here’s what the Washington Huskers site has to offer..
Husky fans
I was up in Seattle a few years ago for Ohio St v Washington and I found Husky fans to be pretty great! I too am looking for some tailgating options. I am open to any options I am meeting up with a group of friends, there should be 7 or 8 of us total, all in our early 30s. I will be driving up from Portland Friday night with another friend, so if anyone wanted to set something up that would be awesome we are up for anything. Go Big Red!
Parking / Tailgating
Attached are the link for parking near Husky Stadium. In the past, Parking lot E1 has been the best for tailgating, but get there early.
$15 if you have 3 people in the car, and $25 if you only have 2.

Game Day Travel/Parking
Due to the Sound Transit construction project, football game day parking for the 2010 season has changed dramatically. All lots adjacent to Husky Stadium, including the large Montlake/E-1 lot, are only available for Tyee Club members with permits for parking on game day. Translation? Parking on campus anywhere near the stadium is going to be difficult, and expensive.
Parking
For a REALLY good overview on all of your parking options, please see http://www.gohuskies.com/transportation/ . This is a MUST READ for anyone that is driving to the game. Also, click here for a full parking lot map of the public parking on/around UW Campus.
Mass Transit
The best way to handle parking is to NOT need to park by leveraging some of the mass transit options in Seattle. These are also on the http://www.gohuskies.com/transportation site in detail. But, here’s the overview:
Bus
Use your game ticket to ride FREE to and from Husky football games on all regular Metro buses, special Husky football transit service (including service from Park Rides) and Sound Transit Route 554.
For all information on regular Metro bus routes and schedules, check Trip Planner.
Park & Ride Bus Service
Free Park & Ride service will begin two hours prior to the scheduled kickoff of every home football game, with buses departing each location every 20 minutes. The final in-bound buses will depart approximately 50 minutes prior to kickoff (Exception: the last buses from the South Renton and the Federal Way Park & Rides leave 60 minutes prior to kickoff). Following the game, buses will be lined up at designated locations near Husky Stadium. Each Park & Ride location is designated with a color-coded sign, which will be on the front and front-side windows of each bus. Buses will depart when they are completely full. Park and Ride locations can be found here.
Special Downtown/Ballard/Lake City Metro Husky Football Service
Special Metro Husky Football Service buses pick up passengers along routes from Downtown Seattle, Ballard, and Lake City/Sandpoint. Special service buses begin operating approximately one hour and 30 minutes before kickoff. The Downtown Bus Service below would be incredibly convenient for anyone staying in downtown hotels like the Sheraton, the Crowne Plaza, etc.
How about Bars?
Since it looks like car/tailgateing options will be limited due to the parking situation, what about bars in teh area that might welcome Husker fans It looks like there are quite a few on the edge of campus, has anyone heard of one or more that Husker fans will be gravitating to. I’m driving up from Portland with 3 other people.
Check the Washington-Nebraska...
…discussion thread linked on the main page here on cornnation.com. Toward the bottom I asked about roughly the same thing and got back a decent amount of answers.
