Early Game Open Thread - Waiting for the Huskers

Yeah, I didn't sleep all night either... well, I have cough syrup with codeine, so, yeah, I slept like death. But if I didn't, I'd have been up all night, anticipating the first real challenge of the season.

Unfortunately, there's still hours to go, and I know you got up to check out College Gameday to see if they're showing anything about Nebraska and the Husker fan invasion that's taken place in Seattle, and hear about Jake Locker's prowess 31 times before the game starts. Hey, maybe they'll talk about the Husker offense and Taylor Martinez' nicknames

All your games for the day are below. Join us for witty banter about the early games, and final thoughts about the Huskers, and then stick around for the game thread!

Unfortunately, the link doesn’t work…so I can’t find out what the hell that actually means.

So, I’m sitting here with my son, and we’re watching College Gameday. I just saw the piece on “Shoelace” and while Erin was interviewing him, he reminded me of someone… DESMOND HOWARD! He has got to be his illegitimate child! Crazy stuff. Look up pictures of both and tell me I’m wrong.

by Screwface on Sep 18, 2010 10:10 AM CDT via mobile reply actions

I just saw that too

You’re right. The Michigan uni helps too. Plus, the guy is good….I think they said he has accounted for something like 85% + of the teams total offensive yards. Nuts.

I’m sitting here with my son as well. Good thing, Dad’s watching football with their sons. Of course, mine is 3 weeks old, so he’s not watching so much as he is listening. But you gotta start somewhere.

Lot’s of Nebraska clips and pieces today on ESPN. So nice to be relevant once again…

My boy is almost 3, he’s getting the hang of football, knowing when to cheer and when not to. But still has no idea what’s going on. Kinda like watching with my wife.

A better-than-average slate of early games

Arkansas/Georgia is the top game, but I’d like to see Iowa St. make a game of it at K-State, too.

But flag on the play… ha, two penalties on the offense! Illegal shift and ineligible receiver downfield.

Where most people are fans of one of 3 teams; Kansas, Mizzou, or Nebraska. It doesn’t make any sense.

ISU's got a shot

They’ve gotta score on this drive, and they’ve gotta burn most of that clock in the process.
