Tom Osborne On Facebook?

Is Tom Osborne on Facebook? 

No, not really.

It's actually a 13-year old kid pretending to be Tom Osborne. Thing is, he's not hiding it. It's right there on the fan page:

"Hey, this isn't really Tom Osborne. I was just trying to make a fan page about him :) become a fan if you want, but I Am not really Tom Osborne thanks! bye."

As of today, Tom Osborne on FB has 35,765 people who like him. 

Just like Tom Osborne, the young man who runs the page never says anything contrary, never swears, always polite, always congenial. 

Thing is, it's bloody hilarious. Every time Tom Osborne on FB says something, he gets a huge amount of likes and comments. 

He says good night and he gets 131 likes and 56 comments.

On August 10th, he revealed that he was celebrating his 13th birthday.

The result? 331 likes and 160 comments. 

I'm not sure what's funniest about this - the people who don't get the gag, people who get angry that people don't get the gag, the people who know it's a gag and post to annoy the people who get angry, or the fact that nearly all of us who are trying to build our Facebook pages (insert obvious bit here about liking CN's FB page) don't come anywhere close to the popularity that this page gets.
