Poll: Huskers Most Dangerous Game
With a look at the Schedule I immediately see three of what I like to call "Dangerous Games". Those are at Washington, Texas, and at A&M.
Washington
While some people may think that the Huskers will roll over the underdog Washington this game may not be as easy as advertised. First it is early in the season and the first real test Nebraska will face. The Huskers have also had a hard time winning the third out of conference game the past two years just ask Virginia Tech. That is all without mentioning probable #1 pick in next years NFL draft Jake Locker
Texas
To most Husker fans this pick should be no surprise. This game has been circled since the Big 12 championship game loss last year. However the one plus to this game is that it is at home and Memorial stadium will be rocking, but Texas has had the Huskers number of the past few years and Garrett Gilbert has all the tools to be a great QB
Texas A&M
This one may surprise you but the Huskers have to go play on the road at Kyle Field and the Aggies have a game changer in Jerrod Johnson who is poised to have a great senior season. There is a possibility that the Aggies pull off an upset if the huskers come out flat.
Which game scares you the most?

Semi-dangerous
How are you feeling about the Kansas State game? I see that as maybe a trap game on the road for you guys. Will NU be looking ahead to the rematch with Texas?
Also, Texas draws a bye week after the OU game. Does the extra week of healing time somewhat offset the NU home field advantage and the motivation?
I always thought the "motivation" agrument is kinda bunk...
Sure, I get it for the Western Kentuckies of the world, but for a team that should have bigger goals than just one game, I kinda doubt the players will play any harder again Texas than KSU, Mizzou, TA&M, etc.
On KSU, line up to stop the run, hard to see any reason that game will be too difficult. W/o Suh, our Dline should still be pretty good, so having a tough time worrying about that game.
Taking A&M here. Not that I think A&M is better than UT, but when mobile QBs are on, well, that is damn near impossible to stop for any defense.
Why are we worried about KSU?
Yes they will require ample respect, and it will be a drunken night game on Thurs (wish I could be there), but KSU has more problems at QB than us, without the stellar D we (should) have. Not worried so much.
A&M reminds me of the Tech game last year. Could be a problem. I’m hoping NU will be able to handle their business down there though.

This game does scare me...
Although I do have a slight bias towards KSU than the other schools not named Nebraska in the Big XII this is a team that ran for around 150 yards last year against Nebraska and would have been in the game had there been absolutely any passing game. Although Nebraska won by 2 touchdowns, if I remember correctly K-State had more total yards. Further, I think this game is K-State’s season. They won’t be on national TV very often, especially not at home, and no matter what anyone says, with Texas looming this game becomes a sleeper game. Nebraska will be wide awake for Washington, Texas and A&M, however I really worry about this Thursday night game in Manhattan. Also let’s not forget how long it took Nebraska to wake up on Thursday night last year in Columbia. I really hope the Huskers win, but this game at KSU on a Thursday night scares me the most, especially since it’s a game they absolutely cannot lose with the world watching.

Washington by FAR
Everyone knows Texas will be a tough game, but Washington under Sarkisian will be very, very good very quickly – and that date in Husky Stadium has the makings of a program-defining win for UW. Couple that with a few guys looking ahead to Texas a few weeks down the road and we could get in big trouble very quickly.

This
Husky Stadium is one of the toughest places to play in the nation. The Huskies play in one of the smallest stadiums and the crowd is right over the top of the field making it hard to hear.

really?
I have never heard that before.
NU went to VaTech last year and seemed to handle it well. I hope the experience pays off.
I’m wondering how many NU fans will make their way into the stadium. You’d think that tickets would be down after last year’s season, but a Heisman candidate may increase demand.

I will be part of the Red Storm...
…that will invade Husky Stadium. Although from what we are finding out tickets are getting hard to come by. This may be due to a lot of NU fans going or as you said possible Heisman talk with Jake Locker but all in all it should be a fun game.
I was at the VaTech game last year...
And that was by far and away the loudest place I have ever been

I agree. Locker might have a ridiculous year this year.

I've gotta go with A&M
This could change if they lay a bit of an egg as the season goes along, but right now the prospect of facing Johnson with that offense in College Station just gives me shivers.

K-State
I think K-State is the most dangerous of them all. Everyone knows Washington and A&M will be very tough, but K-State is on a prime time evening. And its no secret that wildcat fans are not the friendliest people toward Nebraska fans. They will want this one bad.

My vote for trap game is Oklahoma State
Here’s why. Nobody expects much from OSU this season…but the Huskers catch them at the worst possible time: the week between the Texas and Missouri games, on the road.
Kidding me
Texas A&M should not even be on here. They are terribly inconsistent and have a horrible, I mean horrible defense. With Nebraska anticipated improved offense I think we will just run the football and play control offense to keep the defense fresh and keep their offense off the field. I know, you are saying what about Texas Tech last year….well Tech puts together a consistent team year in and year out under leach, have a better defense and in my opinion Nebraska let them get a cushion for a lead with mistakes. My pick is for Texas. The games are close every year no matter what and they have talent either way you look at it. They may not be as experience as some of these other teams but they will show up against the Huskers.
First will go with Mizzou as the trap
As much as it pains me to say it nobody is really talking about them. Pinkel does a good job getting there team 8 or 9 wins and thats it but they do have probably the 2nd best qb in gabbert ( part of me just died ) As for a@m, to me they will be this years version of Ole Miss. Everybody thought they will be the break out team and Snead will be a dark horse heisman canadiate and they just stunked it up. No defense and Sherman has not impressed me
Here's another vote for OSU
Classic trap game and you haven’t won in Stilly in 15 years…
Recent history hasnt’ been kind to you either. Pokes roll, again.
We can't handle firepower of that magnitude...
you haven’t won in Stilly in 15 years
Technically true but I would have been more worried facing off against Okie St.’s version of the Tripplets last year than whatever is going on offensively this year. To me the offensive firepower has lessened some (although you got the OC to at least try for it). The road trip to A&M is more daunting at least from a defensive point of view.
You've lost there several years before with a different coach and completely different teams
Therefore you will lose again. Great argument, Joe.

Trap Game
Do not worry about Texas A&M. Their defense is WEAK, especially against the run. On offense, they are currently starting THREE true freshman offensive linemen who are getting their butts beat by their below average defensive line. Jerrod Johnson is a great young man, just an outstanding person, but in my opinion he is not a quality college passer. Great leader, good power runner, great human being. Cannot hit the broad side of a barn with a football unless he is playing UT. Their RBs and WRs are outstanding. No OL and a scatter armed QB. Your defense will eat their OL alive. Biggest Worry-Its at Kyle Field.
Texas will come to Lincoln with a marginally better running game and the best QB in the Big 12. The Texas Defense will be stronger than what you faced in the B12 CG. Hard to believe what the players that went to the pros, but Muschamp has these guys defensive mindset like the old Blackshirts. Texas has never had a defensive mindset and athletes like this team. If the Wrs get consistent, they have more talent than last year, but there are no Shipleys on this team. Watch out for Goodwin.
Key-Nebraska fans and tradition. Playing in front of Nebraska fans will make the difference. I see the game as identical to the BIG 12 CG, with the venue and the fans making the difference. I think Nebraska has a great chance. Wish I could be there. All true Texas fans mourn the loss of the Nebraska fans. You guys taught us what sportsmanship was all about. Good luck friends.
