Over the last week, like many concerned Husker fans I have been visiting a purple cat site (that shall remain nameless) and would like your thoughts on some of the comments I received as a new poster there.
For instance, are long posts, even if respectful and only cite facts improper netiquette for new aliases?
And I don't want this to look like a veiled attack, but is it common for moderators to (verbally) shut down and denigrate posters who express opinions other than their own or that of their cronies? Or to very actively egg on others who do so? I was amazed at the level of vitriol (four letter words, name calling, insults) spewed by the moderator(s) over at our friends site.
Again, I do not mean to attack anyone here (or there), just really curious. I have not seen that level of sanctioned, stultifying vituperation (sorry, the words are just too perfect) outside of unsupervised political blogs. Simply trying to get a feel...is this a preview of what we can expect on the road this season?
Thanks!
