Colorado Joins the Pac 10 Before Nebraska Leaves - Does Colorado Get the Blame For Breaking Up the Big 12?

It's official - Colorado has accepted an invitation to join the Pac 10 conference. At least they're not going to be left out in the cold.

A quick question for you fans, though. If they're in another conference, are Husker fans still going to hate them?

And since they officially went first, are they going to get the blame for breaking up the Big 12 instead of Nebraska?

Wow

Roughly 24 hours of reading this site, and already I’m in the plurality opinion regarding who killed the Big XII…

We hate Colorado, when did that happen?

I thought we had to care about them before we could hate them. :-D

88 votes for Texas and we're trying to preserve the Big 12

Bitter much? :)

Hate to see y’all leave but I’ll enjoy the Rose Bowl of 2013 against ya.

Stumpy: It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground. I was bummin' in a hole-in-the-wall town in what is now called "Utah".

Wait, what?

Texas is trying to preserve the Big 12? Give me a swig of that Kool-Aid when you’re done, will ya?

how

did you vote?

for Nebraska?

I’d be curious to see the same poll on a non-biased web site.

UT, aTm, & OU

Now KCTV5 is reporting that UT & aTm are pursuing the Big 10, and OU is pursuing the SEC.

High level sources in multiple conferences have told KCTV5 that Texas and Texas A&M are looking to move to the Big Ten Conference and have petitioned for membership, while the University of Oklahoma is planning on petitioning the Southeastern Conference to become a member of its conference.

My head hurts. Make it stop.

I… don’t …believe it….

I thought B10 would surely lose UT and A&M to Pac 10

I’m calling rumor mill on that article.

I’m glad I’ve found this blog. Long time University of Michigan fan, I gladly welcome Nebraska to the Big Ten. I kinda wish this was 1997. This should be fun, you guys are by far the program I would welcome the most to the Big Ten. Congrats.

Big Buff fan here. Great day for us and a good day for the Corn as well. Someone had to stand up to the UT big-brother, alpha-dog nonsense coming from that state.

The Corn did, and CU did. It was about time someone showed those guys the Big XII did not revolve around UT. The move to the Pac-10 will be good for CU. The Big 10 will be good for NU. Keeping the Big XII the way it was… was best for UT.

If I had one of those stupid looking corn hats you guys wear, I’d put one on for 10 minutes. The Corn done did well but telling UT to stick their ultimatum where the sun don’t shine. Well played and well done. My thanks extended to NU.

I'm rooting for Team USA at the World Cup!

So.. about northwestern

Who gets the NU abbreviation??

I mean… they technically are the older school?

by PurdueEnginerd on Jun 10, 2010 4:16 PM CDT reply actions

Within Nebraska

The school is always UNL, so I don’t think I’ve ever referred to it as NU. Online, though, no one outside the state knows what UNL means, so…

NEB

I’m guessing the networks will choose to go with NEB. I’ve seen them label us as that before.

No matter what they do or how many times they beat a top 10 Iowa team, they're still...

just Northwestern.

Media outlets all over Texas...

are refuting the KCTV5 story. It’s 100% bogus.

[Osborne's] school has this ultimatum from Texas to either spit or get off the pot. Commit to the Big 12, Texas is saying, or we'll take this Pac-10 offer, rake in more cash and kiss the Big 12 goodbye. It's on you, Nebraska. Texas is good at this sort of thing -- it could blame Cadillac for those Toyota brake problems and get away with it. - Dennis Dodd

HUSKERS IN THE BIG 10

Can someone bring us new Big Teners up to speed on the obnoxious fans that will replace Colorado, Missouri, and Oklahoma’s? Oh yeah, Texas’ too.
