Zac Lee Out for Spring Practice?
The biggest news of the day is that QB Zac Lee will miss the start of spring practice...maybe all of it. Good opportunity perhaps for Kody Spano and Cody Green, but bad news for a Husker offense in dire need of something to build on.
Also, Rickey Thenarse has been granted a sixth year of eligibility after tearing his ACL last fall.

I guess
this is good and bad….. Zac Lee needs as much time as he can get, and missing spring ball isn’t a recipe for getting better. Sucks for Lee, but I guess we’re going to see what Kody Spano and Green can do in his place.
I guess Green will get more reps this way, but I sure as hell hope his accuracy improves.

Need the QB Competish!
Honestly I would like to see more Cody Green myself. But toning down QB competition is never a good thing. With ya Jon, I hope he took a good hard look at himself this off-season and improves his accuracy.
I think
Green has potential but on the field last year when it counted he was as bad as Lee. I would say they both need the spring to work on everything from clock management to accuracy. My bet is Spano emerges as the leader of the pack no hard evidence to back it up just a gut feeling, so it is probably way off. Zac looked okay in the bowl game, in which I also thought the offensive gameplan was better. Everyone was better in that game from Watson down to the offensive line. Hope the improvement continues because if they go backward we can look forward to another four or five loss season. Maybe even worse with the loss of Suh. I know the coaches have said this upcoming defense will be as good or better, I am not buying it till I see it on the field. Down here in Oklahoma at the beginning of this year the coaching staff said the offensive line at OU was going to be better than when Bradford won the Heisman and we all seen how that turned out. Talk isn’t worth much, it is worth about as much as stars in recruiting! Bo popped off and set the bar pretty high so hopefully he can live up it.
