Big Ten Decides 12 Schools is Enough
The Big Ten's Council of Presidents/Chancellors met today and determined that the process of expansion that began last December is now complete. The Big Ten will focus on the integration of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and "will not be actively engaged in conference expansion for the foreseeable future."

Absolutely, go DIAF :)
No, I’d actually like Mizzou in the Big 10 with us, but I strongly believe that 12 teams needs to be the maximum for a football conference. Go beyond that, and I think cohesiveness would suffer as you don’t get to play non-divisional opponents very often.
I will say that if we went to a 9 game conference schedule and if Notre Dame and Missouri were the two additions, I’d probably be supportive.

Well, really, who else is there to add?
The Big Ten played this beautifully. They got the best program that was reasonably within reach (though, admittedly, said program may suffer growing pains for a few years— especially if a certain head coach doesn’t revamp his offensive staff), they got their championship game, and a HUGE payout to go with it. That’s not even taking into account all the additional $$$ they stand to get when the Big Ten Network contract negotiations start up again.
With all that in place, why stir the pot any more? College athletics just narrowly avoided a monumental revolution over the summer, so why reignite that; unless to keep up in an arms race? The only way the Big Ten adds more is if Notre Dame calls up and says they had a change of heart, or if another conference decides to expand.
Ultimately, Nebraska’s future is secure, and that makes me content.
Only One Other School Makes Sense
…and that’s Notre Dame. If they knocked on the Big 10’s door, they should be welcomed with open arms. I don’t think any other school has the fan base or reputation that would make them attractive to joining.
