The Spread?
Why don't we run a spread offense? A ton of other programs use it very efficiently and it worked so well with Joe Ganz a couple years ago. I know we don't quite have the right quarterback for it right now but all they need to do is slightly change their recruiting tendencies to get the perfect quarterback for the system. I'm really looking for an answer that tells me why we aren't using a spread so i'd appreciate the feedback.

We do run the spread
Rather, we run a spread option offense fused with a West Coast style passing game….which I’ve become convinced is too complicated and is hurting us.
The under center stuff was a wrinkle for this game that (I presume) was intended to exploit OU’s perceived weakness against power running.

well whatever type of spread offense we are running now, doesnt seem to be working. If a team focuses on the zone-read, then we don’t have a passing game to fall back on. I liked the way the offense was the last couple years of the Callahan era and i do wish that Bo would have brought that spread offense into his system. Maybe not have it be an all out full fledged spread attack like Texas Tech under Mike Leach but maybe just a copy of Oklahoma’s offense because they still make the run a big part of the gameplan unlike many other spread offenses.
