This is an article disguised as an open thread..... Or maybe it's the other way around..... either way, there's all those damned periods again.
Hey, now! Last night it was St Petersburg, tonight it's Las Vegas! It's like we're in all the warm weather spots, woohoooeeeee! Oh, if only that were true.
Boise State vs Utah - if you want to see how their fanbases are doing during the game, be sure to hit up OBNUG and Block U - and see what their game threads are doing.
Utah has lost three straight to Boise State, the last one coming in 2006, when the Broncos smashed the Utes 36-3. I'd expect something closer tonight, although the Broncos might be pissed off enough to take it out their loss to Nevada on the Utes.
I may or may not be around. Mrs CN has determined that if we're going to Nebraska, we're going tonight. Wish me luck and not too much ice, driving through Northern Iowa is hell this time of year (as opposed to it just being plain hell through the rest of the year).

Jon, the forecast for northeastern NE is for 2-4 inches of snow from 6 a.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday. Doesn’t sound too bad…winds shouldn’t be too strong.

Starting a new roast thread....
You guys say low and slow, but the link sd gave me says start at 450. Other recipes I’ve found say start at 500 degrees for 5 minutes per pound, then lower to to 325.
This is why I’m confused. Which gives the best results, low and slow all the way, or high heat at first to seal it, then lower the temp to finish it?

I would cook it at 230 degrees for about 8 hrs. or until the internal temp reaches 160. The rule of thumb is 1.5hrs per pound at a low temp(220-230). Just give me a shout and I’ll explain it.605.484.4378.

Hahaha, no problem,,,
for me it’s a lot easier to talk to someone but I understand. I could give you the info on how to smoke it, but have never cooked it in the oven. I would say low temp for a long time is the key. Just keep in mind to hit the internal target temp and try to keep it moist. Maybe a pan of water in the oven to keep the moisture. Good luck!
